What Overleaf costs, and what the same work costs on Texeno.
List prices in US dollars, from each site's plans page. Either company can change them.
The short answer: for one person, Scholar is $75 a year against $98 for Overleaf Student and $199 for Standard. For a group where everyone needs a plan, Lab is from $490 a year, sold in sizes of 10, 25, 50, and 100 members.
One person
| Plan | Per month | Per year | Collaborators per project | Compile limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Texeno Free | $0 | $0 | Unlimited | 30 seconds |
| Texeno Scholar | $9 | $75 | Unlimited |
What the collaborator cap means for the bill
On Overleaf the project owner's plan sets how many people can work on that project. Collaborators do not need paid plans of their own, so a group that shares one owner's account pays once. The cap decides which tier that owner needs: a paper with more than 10 authors needs Pro, at $399 a year.
Texeno has no cap on any plan. The same paper, with any number of authors, runs on Free, or on Scholar at $75 a year if you need the longer compile limit.

A lab or department on one bill, sold in sizes of 10, 25, 50, and 100 members. The team shares 8 compiles at once and 50 GB, with an admin console and an optional verified email domain so colleagues join without an invitation. Above 100 members, write to us.
What Texeno does not include
Overleaf's plans include Mendeley sync and direct journal submission, which Texeno does not have yet. If you use either, count that against the saving. Dropbox, Google Drive, GitLab and Git sync are on Scholar and Lab.

Questions
Is Texeno cheaper than Overleaf?
For one person writing with co-authors, yes: Scholar is $75 a year against $98 for Student and $199 for Standard, with no collaborator cap. For a group where everyone needs a plan, Lab is from $490 a year, sold in sizes of 10, 25, 50, and 100 members. If your institution already pays for Overleaf, switching saves you nothing.
Do my co-authors need to pay?
Not on Texeno. Editors, reviewers and viewers you invite to a project are unlimited on every plan, and each needs only a free account. Only members of a Lab team workspace count toward the team.
Is there a student discount?
