Sarmate vs Texeno, side by side.
Sarmate's Pro is €99 a year, with no compile time limit and 5 GB. Scholar is $75 a year, with 8-minute compiles, the priority lane and unlimited collaborators.
The short answer: pick Sarmate for the lowest yearly price (Perso, €39) if 5 minutes per 2-hour window is enough, or for a plan with no compile time limit (Pro). Pick Texeno for a lower price than Pro, the priority lane and a team plan with its price on the page.

Reading the table
Sarmate's prices are in euros and we show them as it does. Its Perso plan at €39 a year costs less than Scholar at $75, but it allows 5 minutes of compiling per 2-hour window and 2 collaborators. Its Pro plan at €99 a year costs more than Scholar and has no compile time limit, which suits very long documents. Scholar's case against Pro is the price and the priority lane.
For a group, Sarmate's institution licence is €89 a seat a year for 3 to 5 seats, €79 for 6 to 15 and €69 for 16 to 30, and it includes unlimited compiling and 10 GB per account. At those list prices 10 people cost €790 a year and 25 people €1,725. On Texeno's Lab, 10 people cost $490 a year and 25 cost $940. Only members of the team count: people you invite to a single project are free on every plan.
Sarmate's site is not consistent about free-plan collaboration: its pricing page lists it, and its Overleaf comparison page says collaboration comes through a Pro account. Ask before you count on it.
